주어와 동사의 수 일치

불가산 명사의 수 일치 == 셀 수 없는 명사

-> 불가산 명사는 항상 단수 취급한다

 

혼동하기 쉬운 주어의 수 일치 <주의> 

- 과목명은 -s로 끝나도 단수 취급

- 복합 명사는 맨 뒤의 명사에 수 일치 

 

수량/부분 표현이 딸린 주어의 수 일치

어떠한 「수량/부분 표현+명사」 가 주어가 되는지에 따라 수 일치를 다르게 한다.

문장 구조에 따른 수 일치

접속사를 이용한 주어가 오거나 주어에 수식어구나 절이 포함된 경우, 문장 구조에 따라 수를 일치시켜야 한다.

등위 접속사 and와 or

B에 수를 일치시키는 상관 접속사 

either A or B -> A 또는 B 

neither A nor B -> A와 B 둘 다 아닌
not A but B -> A가 아니라

B not only A but also B (= B as well as A) -> A 뿐만 아니라 B도

 

수식어구나 절이 포함된 주어의 수 일치

주어 + (구) + 동사: Employees (at work) are using the same LAN.

 

주어 + (절) + 동사: People (who attend the event) are able to receive a ticket for the concert.
